Wow! it has taken us a week to get over the excitement of our season auditions! This may have been the largest turnout, yet. I want to thank everyone who turned out, veterans and newcomers a like! We are in the final throes of casting Five by Tenn and Chris is pretty close to finishing up Measure for Measure and Antigone. Final casting for Five by Tenn will be announced soon and the rest of the season will be announced after Intern Auditions and Interviews on Feb. 17th. Again, thank you to all the talented folks who came out and we look forward to working with you in the coming year!

Shakespeare Carolina is proud to announce Auditions for its 2012 Season, January 23-24th at 7PM in Dance Studio C in Spirit Square, 345 N College St, Charlotte, NC 28202.
This year’s season is Shakespeare Carolina’s most ambitious yet. The company will open 2012 with 5xTenn, an evening of one act plays by Tennessee Williams. March 6-10 at the Duke Energy Theatre, Spirit Square. Guest Directors include Amanda Liles, David Loehr, S. Wilson Lee and Brian Willard.
In April, Shakespeare Carolina will present Measure for Measure, Directed by Managing Artistic Director, Chris O’Neill April 17 – 21.
This July, The Company returns to its Summer Residency at Winthrop University with Judith Malina’s Translation of Bertolt Brecht’s Antigone, also directed by O’Neill, July 12-21.
August brings Guest Director, David Wohl’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to The Johnson Main stage, August 9-18. David Wohl is the Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Winthrop University. He holds the Ph.D in Theatre from Kent State U and served as Artistic Director of Charleston (WV) Stage Company for 20 years.
Interested Actors are requested to bring a headshot and resume and bring two contrasting monologues, in addition, cold readings, improvisation and movement work will be used in the casting process.
